Worst Job Advert EVER!

A 1914 advertisement by Ernest Shackleton for his Antarctic Expedition. If you haven’t heard of it, you should read about it. It was a hell of a trip.

I don't have anything going on. Might as well sign up for that.

At least he is honest about the crap work he's going to put you through. Better than other other want ads I've read for someone looking for an artist for their personal children's book but can't afford to pay because they haven't looked into self publishing and want to sell a completely finished book to a publisher. Or the bastards who try and disguise their cheapness in psudeo-compliments. "I'm looking for someone interested in a true collaboration" or "I think a real artist should be able to create some in an hour or two."

A friend of mine made a tumblr page for bad ads like this, but I unsubscribed because it was so depressing.

That´s no work ad: that´s a challenge. Not for me, my subtropical body suffers when cold goes below 15ºC.

You wouldn't live twenty minutes inside the Arctic Circle.

The 2002 A&E movie with Kenneth Branagh is excellent.
