DS9 is my second favourite Star Trek series. My favourite is still the original and the best.

The Original is like a Pop Tart. I can eat one everyday. But DS9 is the meatloaf slice in my Star Trek sammich.

I dislike Trek. The only one a watched once and awhile was Voyager. May the force be with you.

There is room for all of us fanboys in the wide wide universe.

I liked (and still like) STTOS. I also like Enterprise. May the Force be with you, always.

This was the first episode of DS9 I even saw, and didn't understand its significance at the time. Having worked by way through the series since, its landed quite an impact knowing how different it was from anything that Trek had done before or since.

I agree that the original series was the most accessible and fun, but DS9 was a unique among its peers. If this series was your favorite, I'd highly recommend checking out "Babylon 5" which came out at around the same time and had a very similar premise of a space station on the edge of a war zone.

I have to second Erik's Babylon 5 recommendation. I did a blog post about it a while ago as underrated classic sf series.
