Voyage Of The Dawn Treader

This is my favorite of the 'Narnia' books. If I ever had a boat I would call it the 'Dawn Treader'. My grandfather build the boat shown below when my father was a little boy. It never was given a name but I always called it the 'Dawn Treader'. I few years ago I took it to Bower Ponds to see if it would float. No sooner than I had put it in the water the wind caught it's sail and the boat took off. We had to grab one of those pedal boats to chase after it.

You can't tell from the picture but the ship is about a meter high and a meter and a half long.

To have something that your grandfather made passed down to your father and then to you is priceless. Especially something cool like that.

It's an amazing ship. The second it hit the water it tacked into the win and was GONE. Never did I ever pedal so fast in my life.

That's a great little family story.
Made even better because you still have the boat.

When I was a kid they told us we were going to switch over to the metric system! I wonder why that didn't happen?

I hate to say it but America never wants to adopt anything that they themselves didn't think of.

Plus the metric system just reekes of Socialism. All those lengths and weight based on multiples of ten. Adopting it would mean more of your fancy booklearin'.

I guess figuring out how many furlongs in a hectar is easier math to do in your head.
